This article details the methods for creating a data recording in Toolkit and the datalogging interface overview
In the Service level of Toolkit, there are two methods to create a data recording: Use the preconfigured "DATALOG" page or create a recording with a custom list of parameters.
To get started using the Toolkit preconfigured datalogger, establish a live connection to an ECU and from the Home screen navigate to the DATALOG page. For Toolkit setup, installation and establishing a live connection, refer to this knowledge base article.
To start a recording, simply click the "Start" button in the upper left corner of the graph as shown enclosed in a red rectangle below:
Data will be displayed in line graph format above and numerical format in the table list of parameters below. At the bottom of the graph window a time span is listed (Shown as 10 minutes in the above screenshot). Toolkit will show data on the graph based on the amount of time selected. This timespan can be adjusted before starting the recording or on-the-fly during the recording.
Once a recording is complete, press the "Stop" button (shown in the same position as the Start button is after the Start button is clicked). Export the data by clicking "Export" in the Tools section of the interface. This will create an .htm file which can then be imported into excel for further analysis.
Note: Toolkit will only export the data that is shown on the screen. If the recording is longer than the time span selected, data will be lost.
For more information on how to manipulate the above graphing interface as well as create a recording with a custom list of parameters, see the below video "Toolkit Custom List Datalog and Interface Overview"
